William Loren Hettich

William (Bill) Loren Hettich, of Polson, passed away at home after a very brief battle with cancer on May 28, 2018 at the age of 81. Bill was born on April 25, 1937 in Yakima, WA, a son of the late William and Lillian Caldwell Hettich.

Bill moved to Polson 11 years ago after retiring from Boeing. He fell in love with the area and chose to live here with his loving partner, Barbara Peterson, until his passing.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, and two brothers.

Bill is survived by his brother, Thomas (Nancy) Hettich of AZ; sons, William Hettich, Jr. of WA and Jim Hettich of WA; Barbara’s son, Jimy Carey of MT; daughters, Lori (Dan) Romain of WA, and Cathy (Dan) Hettich – Rodriguez of WA; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bill’s life is being planned for a date in July for those in the Polson, MT area as well as a date in August in Yakima, WA. Details will be announced in the Lake County Leader, Valley Journal, Missoulian, and Yakima Herald newspapers.
