Viola Hansen Deputy
Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Viola Hansen Deputy passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho on October 12, 2015 at the age of 89. The middle daughter of five children, Vi lived and worked on the family Montana ranches through her teen years. She was an avid athlete and active in sports particularly basketball in high school and later was a championship bowler winning many trophies.
Vi was born in Melstone, Montana and lived in Musselshell until high school when she and her family moved to Dillon where she was later married and raised her family. Vi lived in Missoula for 8 years and then moved to Polson in 1971 where she continued her love of art and shared her artistic talents as a painter and member of the Sandpiper Gallery. She lived and worked in Polson for 44 years retiring in 1991 from her secretarial position for Lake County. She was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church.
Vi was proud of her German and Danish heritage and passed it on to her children.
She is survived by her daughters and their families Kathy Shannon (Pat), Charleen Price (Bill), Coreen Meredith-Perez (Robert) and three grandchildren Jackie, Jason and Katie. A private family graveside service to celebrate Vi's life will be held in Polson.
