Viola Emily Burton
Viola Emily (Moss) Burton, age 95, a resident of St. Luke's extended living in Ronan for several years, has gone to rest under the shadow of her Mission Mountains she loved so well. Born in Everett, Washington in 1915, she came as an infant to her Polson home at Fulkerson Corner. She went to school at the old Ducharme School. Later to live in Stevensville, where she met and later married Ray E. Burton, Sr. Music was a happy part of their life, plus all their children. Viola was a member of the old time Fiddlers, she played fiddle, guitar, and sang. We miss your beautiful gardens and flowers, specially your beautiful irises that you grew. Viola was one of Jehovah's Witness and was baptized in 1941 at Mission Dam. Her husband, three daughters, Lynn Howell Fulkerton, Judy Burton, and Sheila Collin, and one son, Ronald James Burton preceded Viola in death. She leaves behind three daughters, Ferol Burton, Polson, MT, Dianne Wolfe, Victor, MT, Bernice Fugere, Wasilla, AK, two sons, Roy E. Burton, Jr., Ronan, MT, David Burton, Dayton, MT, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 9am to 11am at Grogan Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11am in the funeral home with Clayton Jensen officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
