Steven Wayne Saxton, 71 of Beaverton OR passed away peacefully at his home in Polson, MT, on Thursday, April 6, 2023. He passed after suffering a long battle following a traumatic brain injury. His wife and children were by his side.
Steve was born on November 26, 1951, in Portland, OR and attended Aloha High School. He played football and was an exceptional wrestler. He even went to the Oregon State Wrestling Championship.
He then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1969 at the end of the Vietnam War. He served 22 years and retired in 1992.
He moved to Montana after retiring, which was a dream of his. He called Montana "God's Country". He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, and anything with a motor. He could fix anything. He absolutely loved spending time with family and especially being surrounded by his kids and grandkids.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Fay Merle Saxton and Vera Jean Follensbee Saxton and granddaughter Christalee Myree Davis
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 yrs, Christine Myree Saxton, Polson MT; six children and their families, daughter Kelly Lynn Saxton Allen, Portland, OR, daughter Tomi Michelle Saxton, Beaverton, OR, son Danny Brent Saxton, Boise, ID, daughter Lesta Marie Saxton, San Antonio TX, son Steven Wayne Saxton (Sabie) Sweet Springs, MO, daughter Danalee Myree Davis (Adam), Polson, MT Steve leaves 2 sisters, Victoria Ann Saxton Martin Tigard, OR, Jan Saxton Ruppert (David) Gresham, OR, with 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
