Obituary for Sadie Zell Haack

Sadie Haack passed away peacefully April 15, 2016, at the age of 87. As Dementia released its grip on her, Sadie acquired her wings & joined her husband Leonard. They are together once again. Sadie was a resident of the Pines of Mission Care facility in St Ignatius. Sadie was born in Van Hook, North Dakota on May 25, 1928, to Gilbert & Alma Peek. At the age of 6 her family moved to Polson, Montana.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, her parents Gilbert and Alma Peek, and 3 siblings.

Sadie is survived by her children, Susan (Willie) Aders of Billings, LeRoy (Pattye) Haack of Laurel, Mt., and Kenneth (Mary) Haack of Arvada, Colorado, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Sadie had multiple talents. She was an active member in the Montecahto Club cooking their yearly "Harvest Dinner Fundraiser" for many years. She picked cherries at local orchards, worked in potato cellars cutting spuds for planting, worked as a sales clerk for Coast to Coast, Polson Auto Parts store, and Rolfson Lumber Company. Sadie would return to the ranch in the evening to be a wife, mother, hired hand and family organizer.

Sadie was an active "dowser" (water witcher). She was proud that she never witched a dry hole. Leonard & Sadie traveled all over Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, North Dakota, and Canada water witching for those in need of their services. She enjoyed educating non believers turning them into believers by the time she was finished. Dowsing gave her great pleasure and opportunity to teach others the art of dowsing. Sadie was one of the founders of the Big Sky Dowers Origination of Montana.

Sadie enjoyed the changing of the seasons especially spring as all things begin to awaken. Her love of nature showed in her oil paintings. She took great pride in capturing nature on canvas. Spring also brought baby calves, and baby wildlife, all of which she thought were God's miracles after a long winter. Leonard and Sadie enjoyed the out of doors by hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

Services are scheduled for Friday, April 22nd at 10:00 am at The Lake Funeral Home in Polson. Following the service burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. A special Thank You goes to the staff at The Pines of Mission for their care provided to Leonard and Sadie allowing them to be together as a couple. The staff of the Pines dedication to Sadie in her later years made her remaining time on earth bearable. Awesome, Thanks again. Donations may be sent to Miracle of America Museum, where Leonard's Harley is on display or to local Law enforcement personnel that Sadie commented were her heroes.
