Ronald Patrick "Pat" Hambly
Ronald Patrick "Pat" Hambly passed away peacefully on December 31, 2015 at age 65. Pat was born to the late Charles Gagnon Hambly and the late Kathryn Sue Hambly in Missoula, Montana on July 5, 1950.
He moved with his family to Polson in 1953. Pat attended Polson High School from 1964-1968 where he played cornet in the band and excelled as a lineman on the varsity football team. After graduation, he attended Montana State University where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. His fraternity brothers gave him the nickname of "Catfish" by which many of his friends knew him throughout the rest of his life.
He graduated with a degree in psychology and then returned to Flathead Valley. Pat chose to work in the food and beverage industries in the valley, and was employed by the Polson Public School system as a cook from 1987 until his retirement in 2006. He loved being outdoors and spent many happy hours boating and fishing on Flathead Lake. He was passionate about NFL fantasy football which he played regularly with friends in Polson and across the country.
Pat is survived by two brothers, Dr. Robert Hambly, who resides in Duvall, Washington and Larry Hambly, residing in Los Altos, California.
Plans for a memorial service in the spring are pending.
