Rodney Walter "Rod" Kuiava
Rodney Walter Kuiava (Rod) passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Rod was born December 6, 1938 to Loretta and John Kuiava. He came to Montana as a young boy and graduated from Havre High School.
Rod moved to Las Vegas, NV and found employment with the North Las Vegas Fire Department. He retired twenty years later as a captain.
In 1988, he and Colette were married. They moved to Dayton, MT and sixteen years later to Polson. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer.
Rod is survived by his wife, Colette; one brother, Ike Kuiava (Sherrie) and one sister, Sandy Craig (Bob); five children, Tim Kuiava (Gail), Jeannie Mitchell (Lamar), Kevin Kuiava, Rich Rimbey, and Rodney Rimbey; eight grandchildren, Brittany Tucker (Matt), Quincey Kuiava,, Matthew Sathrum, Jessica Kuiava, Keelie Mitchell, Kenna Rimbey, Clayton Rimbey, William Rimbey, and one great-grandson, Grayson Tucker.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson. Time will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Lake County Hospice, 711 Main Str. S.W., Ronan, MT 59864.
