Robert H Cope
Robert H. Cope, age 72, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his home. Robert was born May 28, 1940 in Searcy, AR., to Flossie Harwell and Neil Cope. He attended Harding Academy, University of AR., and received his masters from the University of Phoenix. At age 17, he served as a US Senate Page to Strom Thurmund and later Barry Goldwater.
Robert married Judy Lee Svore on June 14, 1980 in Showdown, AZ.
Robert worked at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego, Director of Medical Imaging, Tucson General Hospital, ARRA program Manager and Radioactive Material Programs.
Robert was Pres. of Arizona's Inner Scholastic Football Officials Assoc., Director of Tucson's Junior Achievement Program, and Republican Club-Arizona.
His hobbies included watching the Diamondback baseball team as a fan and supporter since inception, gardening, woodworking, and planted many varieties of trees in AZ.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sisters, Myra Starling and Nancy Shewmaker; and 1 brother, Keneth Cope. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, whom he was very close to (Kirstin Holsman of Seattle, who was flower girl at his and Judy's wedding in 1980.)
A graveside service will be held in Polson, MT, Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Lake View Cemetery. A memorial service will be the 2nd week of September at the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ.
