Obituary for Patricia Lynn Stokes

Patricia Lynn Beaver Stokes, 85, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at The Retreat in Polson. She was born in Missoula to Elmer and Ethel (Dewey) Lynn on July 22, 1931.

She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1949. She later married Larry “Bevo” Beaver, who was also from the class of the 49’ers. They had four children, Hu, Kathryn, Joanne and Jeanne.

They moved to Polson and Patricia helped with running the Dewey Lumber Company with her brother Robert Lynn. She spent many years enjoying her property on Flathead Lake with friends and relatives.

In 1969 she married John Jay Stokes. She was the bookkeeper for their trucking business, which was a fulltime job, having up to five trucks on the road at times. They moved the trucking business to Great Falls in 1986 and returned to Polson in 1999. John preceded her in death in 2008.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn (Gary) Harding of Pablo; Hu (Patsy) Beaver of Polson; Joanne (Wade) Emerson of Ronan and Jeanne (Brad) Cochran of Polson; her grandchildren, Sunshine (Dave) Deveny, Travis (Acacia) Harding, Chip Harding, Michael (Shawna) Lytton, Emily Emerson, Jody (Jennifer) Seifert, Jeremy (Jen) Seifert, Tommy (Jodi Lynn) Seifert and Sami Beaver and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-children John L. Stokes of Pablo and Lori Harbour of Bartlesville, OK and their children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank “The Retreat” for caring for Patricia during her stay.

Graveside services for Patricia will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Ronan Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening June 14, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at The Lake Funeral Home.
