Obituary for Millicent R. McMillin

'Just call me Millie!' This is the first thing you would have heard from Millicent McMillin if you were fortunate to have made her acquaintance. Millie passed away in the arms of her best friend on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 2, 1941, a daughter of Clarence McMillin and Eileen Herron McMillin. Her sister, Susan Manville, passed away earlier this summer. Those left with cherished memories include her nephews, David, Steve, and Andy Manville. Her other siblings are Bob McMillin and Emily Cox. Millie completed Bellevue High School in Washington and worked for Quest (Pacific Bell) from 1965 until 1987. After she retired to Montana, Millie volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce, the Coalition for Kids and with special projects for RSVP. Millie enjoyed being a member of the First Baptist Church in Polson. Millie adored all animals and after her dog Jessica passed away, she adopted two kittens from Life Savers Animal Rescue. Both kittens, Lizzie and Bobbie, have been placed to together in a happy home. The following poem is from her best friend in Moses Lake, WA, 'Lil Sis Pat' who sends this message to all of Millie's friends and family: 'May Hin Han, the owl who guards the entrance to the Milky Way, open wide the portal so that your loved one may pass over quickly with much joy and peace into the Spirit World.' Millie followed the motto, 'Places to go, things to buy.' Now, she is in the greatest shopping mall in the sky. Millie's ashes will be resting in California with her sister, Suzie, next spring. Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory, Polson, assisted with arrangements. www.groganfuneralhome.com.
