Mary Monica Gervais

Mary Monica Gervais, 89, of Valley Center, CA passed away in Polson, MT at her daughter Judy and son-in-law Roger Rasmussen’s home on May 1, 2024.  Mary was born on July 21, 1934, in Bancroft, Nebraska and her family moved to the Los Angeles area when she was a young girl and they later settled in Vista, CA.

Monica married the love of her life, Robert J. Gervais, on November 14, 1952. They had a wonderful life together until Bob’s passing in August 2007. Monica lived in Vista until 2012 when she moved to Valley Center to live with her daughter, Theresa and son-in-law Ted Bullard.

Monica worked at Tri-City Medical Center for many years and after retiring she became an auxiliary volunteer.

Monica is survived by her 3 daughters; Judy Rasmussen of Polson, MT, Mary Jo Reed of Vista, CA, Theresa Bullard of Valley Center, CA; and 3 sons, Ted Gervais of Vista, CA, Michael Gervais of Azna, CA and John Gervais of Lago Vista, TX; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and two on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Joseph Gervais, and her son, Robert Thomas Gervais of Vista, CA.

Mass will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1450 South Melrose Drive, Oceanside, CA 92056 on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Woodshed, 2545 Progress St, Vista, CA 92081 on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 1:00-3:00, lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers please donate to one of her favorite charities, St Jude’s, American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
