Marilyn Dougherty
' Marilyn D. Dougherty, 82, of Ronan, formerly of Vaughn and Great Falls, died of natural causes Friday, May 20, at her daughter\'s home in Ronan. A memorial service will be held in July in Great Falls for her and her husband of 60 years, Wilfred 'Bill' Dougherty, who died of natural causes Friday, March 11. Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory of Polson is in charge of arrangements. Marilyn was born May 12, 1929 to Winifred and Leo Matchett in Havre and spent her early years in Hamilton graduating in 1947 from Hamilton High School. She continued her education at Montana State University and received a degree in nursing. In 1950 she married Wilfred 'Bill' Dougherty in Fort Benton. They lived in Great Falls where she was a registered nurse at the Deaconess Hospital. She was a head nurse when she retired in 1980. After retiring, they moved to a small farm on the Fairfield Bench. She enjoyed gardening, painting, quilting and tending to her animals on the farm as well as genealogy research. Survivors include daughters, Kathie Folts of Ronan, Pam Dougherty of Great Falls: son William Dougherty of Havre: granddaughters Jenelle Spangler, Jessica Dougherty-McMichael and Cassidy Seymour: and grandson Nicholas Dougherty-McMichael.
