Obituary for
Marie Rose Kenmille
Marie Rose Houle Kenmille, age 71, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. Marie was born July 12, 1945 to Benedict Barney Houle and Anna Rose Lafountain Houle. She was raised in Belcourt, N.D. She attended school at Turtle Mountain Community School, Fort Totten, Chambler, Wahpeton, and Flandreau, where she graduated from high school.
Marie married Laurence Kenmille in Belcourt, ND at the St. Anna Catholic Church in 1963. Later that year they moved to Montana. They were blessed with their first born son Allen Ray Kenmille in 1966. They moved to California where they had another child, Zaneta Ray Kenmille in 1968.
*Marie was a dental assistant in Minnesota and Belcourt for about 12 years. She also worked as a CNA in Dunseith and Grafton, ND.
Marie enjoyed the casinos and playing bingo. She made several baby blankets for newborns, family, and friends. She served as a Catechism teacher at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Belcourt for about 20 years. She helped many wayward children to know and learn their Catholic Faith. She also was a fundraiser for the Kateri Tekakwitha Conference in Bozeman.
Marie was preceded in death by her daughter Zaneta, her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Marie is survived by her son, Allen Ray Kenmille of Pablo, MT, a granddaughter, Kayla Keplin Ridgley, a great-granddaughter, Jessarae Ridgley, three brothers Larry A. Houle and Dennis B. Houle of Belcourt, ND, three sisters, Barbara E. Houle, Lynette Turcotte both of Belcourt, ND, and Debbie McCanna of Devils Lake, ND.
A wake will begin Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 am, Rosary will be Friday evening at 8:00 pm, and mass will be Saturday, May 20th at 10:00 am, all at Elmo Hall. The burial with follow at Dayton Cemetery.
