Louis A. Largent, 85, of Ronan, MT, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the St. Luke Extended Care Facility in Ronan. Louis was born on January 16, 1926, in Moiese, MT, a son of the late Roy and Marguerite Burrell Largent. The family farmed in Moiese and Louis had fond memories of his old Pinto saddle horse, 'Captain'. On his 18th birthday, Louis enrolled in bootcamp in Farragut, ID and later went on to serve three years in the Navy during WWII. While in the Navy, Louis was an airplane mechanic stationed on the Marshall Islands. Louis married Esther Langley and together shared 58 loving years of marriage before she passed away in 2005. He worked as a truck driver, a logger, and as a farmer. He loved to hunt and especially loved to steelhead fish with his friend, Darryl Bray.
Besides his parents and wife, Louis is preceded in death by a brother, Fred Largent.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Largent of Plains, John (Marianne) Largent of Plains, Alan (Brenda) Largent of Ronan, and Tony Largent of Pablo: two brothers, Bill (Kay) Largent if Moeise, and Gene (Lony) of Tacoma, WA: a sister, Eva (Nick) Woods of Arizona: seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services with military rites will be conducted on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, 10:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson.
