Obituary for
Liberty Agnes Dupuis Bower
Liberty Dupuis “Bertie” Bower, age 96, passed away on May 22, 2016 in Arizona. Bertie, as she was so well known, was born to Edwin and Clara Dupuis on January 2, 1920 at the family ranch in Pablo. She was the sister of Lester and Lyle Dupuis.
Bertie grew up in Pablo and attended school in Ronan and was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
She married Paul “Bogie” Bower in April 1956. They had 57 wonderful years together and loved to play golf and got teased about their names being Bertie and Bogie and having “Kaddy Shack” for a license plate on their motorhome and actually enjoyed the game of golf.
Bertie was a popular hairdresser in the Plains and Polson areas before retiring.
Paul (Bogie) preceded Liberty (Bertie) in death passing away in January 2014.
She is survived by three daughters, Myrna and Dick Jakob, Kaye and Ken (deceased) Pomajevich and Sherri and John Seines, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Bertie will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at The Lake Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
