Obituary for Lester Charles Shank

Lester Charles Shank, 85, of Ronan, MT, went to be with his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife on June 7, 2011 at Community Medical Center in Missoula surrounded by his family. Lester was born on April 26, 1926 to Charles and Lydia Shank in Fresno, CA. They moved to Los Angeles when he was in high school and it was there that he met his only true love, Pauline. They were married on December 13, 1946. Lester came to know the Lord on Easter in 1957. From then on he tried to be the best Christian he could be. In 1960, he entered LIFE Bible College. He attended for one year until his health kept him from continuing. Lester continued to do the Lord's work until the day he died. He was a strong man of God who lived the serve the Lord. He was the Chaplain at Mountain View Care Center in Ronan and was loved by the residents as well as the staff there. He loved with all his heart and welcomed everyone into his family. No one was ever turned away. If he had, he gave. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles, his mother, Lydia, his brothers, Morris, his beloved wife of 38 years, Pauline, and his infant son, Lester Paul. Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Lucky) Donegan and Carl (Tom) Barrett: his grandchildren, Elaine (Kris) Randall, Charles Mitchell, and Frances Shine: great-grandchildren, Andrew, Faith, Hope, Charie, and Timothy: and many, many more 'adopted' friends and kids as well as all of his church family. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held by his family. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com. The staff of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory, Polson, considers it a privilege to care for Mr. Shank's family.
