Les Melvin Morgan
Les Morgan, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his residence in Dayton, Montana. He was born on June 15, 1943 in Seattle, WA the son of Leonard O. and Norma (Bjerke) Morgan.
He was raised on a farm in Outlook, MT where he attended school and graduated from Outlook High School in 1963. Following high school, Les joined the Army Reserve and served on active duty for 5 months and returned to Reserve status and served until being honorably discharged in 1969. He was very proud to serve his country. In 1966, he moved to the Mission Valley. He then began working on the S.S. Hodge at 22 years old and in 1971, he purchased the S.S. Hodge with his brother Dale. Les developed a very successful construction company on Flathead Lake. He was dedicated to his work and his family. Anybody who dealt with Les knew they were dealing with someone with integrity and professionalism.
In his early years, he enjoyed stock car racing. Les Morgan raced, built and sponsored race cars in the Mission Valley. Another hobby Les had was playing pool in a league and in his automotive shop. Les was also big fan of Paul Harvey.
Les loved his family and was always willing to help. He had a very close relationship with his brother Dale, who were partners in the beginning of Hodge's Marine Construction. Les is loved by all of his children and grandchildren who already miss him.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Leonard and his brother Dale.
He is survived by his children, Howard, Robbie, Fred, Heidi and Anita and numerous grandchildren and his brothers and sisters, Sheryl, Cliff, Wes, Lee and Ron as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Les' life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Grogan Funeral Home. This is how Les would like it to end….."Paul Harvey……..Good Day".
Full Military Honors will take place after the service at Grogan Funeral Home.
