Obituary for Kathleen M. McClure

Kathleen Marie McClure, 55, of Pablo passed away in Deer Lodge, Montana Rest Home after an extended illness.
Kathy, a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, was born on April 22, 1959 in Montebello, CA, to Rachel Arlee Bowers (Pablo) and Larry Eugene McClure (Arlee). Kathy attended Villa Ursulines and Mission elementary schools. She attended the first class to graduate high school from Two Eagle River School in Dixon, MT. Kathy married Micheal "Duke" Gardipe in St. Ignatius and had a son from this union, Micheal James Jr. Kathy also had two children Robert John and Anastasia Marie with Pascal (Buck) Hammer.
Kathy was a very beautiful lady whose life choices were setback by many years of health issues. However, in her younger years, she could whip the best of them (on any given day). She thoroughly loved her children and family and participated in many cultural activities. She enjoyed beading, attending powwows and camping. She was especially fond of swimming and playing Keno and Blackjack.
She was preceded in death by her sister Christina Lynn Sorrell. She is survived by her mother and father, her children, 10 grandchildren, her siblings Tom (Debbie), Arlee; Patricia (Sam Buffalo); Robert John, Pablo; Judy Harlow, Pablo; Gigi (Curtis Yazzie), St. Ignatius; Lou Ann (Jon Hoskinson), Ronan, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A traditional wake is being held at the St. Ignatius Community Center. The Rosary is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Wake closing will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the St. Ignatius Cemetery.
