Obituary for
Joyce Marie Erickson
Joyce Erickson passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Joyce is now with family, friends and the love of her life, her husband Frank. Joyce passed quietly and peacefully in company of loving friends and family members.
Joyce was born in March 19, 1933 in Stevensville, Montana. She grew up in the Bitterroot Valley until moving back to Missoula where she met and married Frank Erickson. Caring for family and here deep faith were what defined Joyce and what brought her the greatest happiness.
The Erickson family moved to the Flathead valley in 1962 where they worked, built and remodeled homes and became deeply committed to their church. In the church, Joyce was a gifted and valued teacher and mentor though her modesty would have prevented her from acknowledging it.
After attending Bible College in Seattle, Frank and Joyce relocated to Polson, Montana where they once again became valued members of the community and congregation. They build a successful office equipment business from the ground up and Joyce managed the business finances while continuing to care for family and friends until they retired and were able to travel to Europe and dedicate their time and energy to their church, family and friends.
Joyce changed the lives of the people she touched and frequently placed the wellbeing of others ahead of her. She will be deeply missed.
Joyce is survived by her two children, her daughter, Glenda Terry, her 4 children, Phoenix, Arizona and her son, Don Erickson of Eugene, Oregon, sister Eleanor Larson, Missoula, Sandra Osage, Phoenix, Rhonda Howell, Missoula and her 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Missoula City Cemetery.
