John R. Dibble, age 80, a resident of Jette Lake near Polson, passed away on January 30, 2023, at Logan Health in Kalispell. He was born on February 11, 1942, in Pontiac, MI the son of Charles Emerson and Eleanore (Stolberg) Dibble.
John attended Humboldt State College in Arcata, California, majoring in Forestry. Following his graduation, John received a commission as a Naval Officer in 1965 and served on the Commander Naval Forces Marinas staff stationed in Guam.
Upon returning to civilian life, he began his lifetime career as a professional forester working for the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs. John arrived in Polson in 1976, working with the Flathead Reservation before continuing his career working with the tribes around the country.
After returning to Polson in retirement, he volunteered many hours to the Jette Lake Landowners Association to improve the forest environment for all residents and landowners.
John is survived by his wife Jean, and sons James and Jeremy both of Portland, Oregon along with six grandchildren.
