John Thomas Barrows
The world lost a great man with a big heart on Saturday, March 15, 2014. John Thomas Barrows was born to Charles and Viola (Jackson) Barrows on February 16, 1947 in Zortman, Montana.
John attended Chillacco Boarding School in Oklahoma. He married Jill Buckman on November 2, 1973 in Chinook. He joined the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam. He later joined the U.S. National Guard based in Missoula.
John began his career with Mission Valley Power in 1972, where he worked in many positions, until his retirement in 2009.
His passion was fixing cars, even for cookies. His hobbies included watching Jeopardy, reading books and watching races.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Beverly, Merna, Patricia and Yvonne.
He is survived by his wife Jill Barrows; siblings – Charles Barrows, Betty Barrows, Pana Garrison, Robert Berchtold and Debbie Call; his children – Diane Barrows (Eric), Michelle Barrows Waugh (Jesse), Anna Barrows, Thomas Barrows (Sarah) and Michael Barrows; his grandchildren – LaCrecia Barrows, Damen James, Macy Waugh, Mariah Waugh, Kaidence Mackay, Kayla Doney, Nathan Doney and baby DJ; great – grandchildren, Trey and Jadon Trombley, Elliana Hoskinson, Selena Burland and Zaedon Jacobs as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for John will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Grogan Funeral Home.
