James Alan Machacek

James Alan Machacek, age 74 of Polson MT, passed away August 5, 2024. Jim was born July 8, 1950, in Scotland, SD to Leo and Viola Machacek.

Jim was raised in Scotland, SD and that is where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Beverly Green. They married May 25, 1973, and moved to Sioux Falls, SD.

Jim drove a semi-truck for UPS for 26 years and he retired in 2001.

Jim and Bev moved to Polson MT in 2006. While in Polson, Jim enjoyed his retirement mowing the Polson Golf Course, golfing, motorcycle rides and sitting on the deck with Bev and enjoying the beauty of Montana. He also enjoyed bowling and playing pool. He loved his toys and was most proud of his Shelby Mustang.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Kelly Jacobson (Dave) grandchildren, Braden and Morgan. Brothers, Rick (Debbie) Machacek, Dennis (Judy) Machacek, Donny (Jackie) Machacek, sisters, Lois Machacek, Carol Machacek and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, sister, Janice Pravecek, parents, Leo and Viola.

A private family burial will be held in Scotland at a later date.
