James Robert "Jim" Arndt
James 'Jim' Robert Arndt, age 72, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011 at his home in Polson, MT of natural causes. Jim was born Feb. 17, 1939 in Malta, MT, oldest of three children to Robert and Edith (Johnson) Arndt. He was educated at the Genevieve School, Snake Creek School and Glasgow High School. He worked and lived on the family farm north of Hinsdale where he owned his own butchering business, catering to friends and neighbors in the surrounding communities. Jim also took part in barbequing the beef for the Hinsdale Milk River Days for the 4th of July. In 1985 he moved to Pablo, MT where he worked and operated a country store until 1993. In 2001 he went to work for Jore Manufacturing until 2005. In 2006 he moved to Polson, MT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening, wood working, and having morning coffee with his friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and two children: Sharon Lee Arndt and Lori Kay Arndt Fitzgerald: a sister, Helen (Arndt) Mavencamp. He is survived by daughter, Carol Ann (Arndt) Henry and her husband Rod of Lakeside, MT: son, Charles 'Chuck' Arndt: daughter, Shirlee Marie (Arndt) Whitaker and her husband Brett of Saco, MT: son, David Arndt of Sidney, MT: sister, Marian (Arndt) Frost and her husband Walt of Tacoma, WA: grandchildren, Curtis and Marci Henry, Lindsey and Dallas Arndt, Krysten Fitzgerald, Branden and Hanna Whitaker, John Arndt: and numerous nieces and nephews. Special love and companion, Wanda McLeod, and her children, Joseph, Renee, and Travis and grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Thurs., Nov. 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Grogan Funeral Home, 101 6th Ave. E., Polson, MT. Graveside services willbe held at Hillview Cemetery in Hinsdale, MT at a later date. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
