Imogene Newgard

Imogene Null Vert Newgard, 92, of Polson, MT died on April 1, 2011. Imogene was born on August 2, 1918 in Princeton, Indiana to Wertzel & Bessie Null. She attended schools in Indiana, Florida and California where she met and married Eugene H. Vert in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by their two sons- Robert Gene Vert and his wife LaRhae and James William Vert and his wife Ann, seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & three great great -grandchildren. In 1979, Imogene married Leonard Newgard who preceded her in death in 1996. She is also survived by his sons- Gerald Newgard & his wife Karol and Kenneth Newgard and his wife Jeanne and their families. She is also preceded in death by her brother Robb Null. Imogene never quit learning. She learned how to paint, play violin, mandolin and the organ. She also belonged to a club that learned Spanish together. Imogene had attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Polson Community Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Deacon Wes Vert officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
