Obituary for
Imogene June Bridges
Imogene J. Strohl Bridges, 83 of Mattoon, formerly of Neoga, passed away at St. Luke's Extended Care in Ronan, Montana at 9:20 am, Monday, March 18, 2013.
A memorial to honor Imogene's life will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, March 29th at the New Life Christian Center in Polson, Montana. The graveside service will be held June 5th at the Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Illinois.
Imogene was born June 5, 1929 in Trilla, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Blanche (Davis) Jones. She attended Neoga High School and was employed at Kern's Manufacturing for many years. She loved music and going to church. Her zest for life was largely due to her love for family and friends. Everyone always said, "She never met a stranger". Imogene was her daughter, Jackie's biggest fan and the joy of her life.
Imogene leaves her only daughter, Jacalyn Strohl Bjarko and husband William of Ronan, Montana; two granddaughters, Kristen Bjarko Wenzel (Matt) of Ronan, Montana and Kara Bjarko Hall of Polson, Montana; nine great-grandchildren, Kierra, Jaben, Bridger and Scout (Wenzel), Keenan, Roman, Anna, Oryssa and Jorja (Hall) all of Ronan, Montana; two sisters, Carolyn Rinehart of Mattoon and Donna Scaggs (Larry) of Noblesville, Indiana; three nephews and three nieces.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband Billie N. Bridges, her parents, Fred Jones and Blanche (Davis) Jones Redfern, two sisters, Mildred Ellis and Lois Price, three brother-in-laws, Pete Ellis, Ray Price and Thomas Rinehart, two nephews, Robert Mesnard and Robert Starwalt.
Save a place in Heaven for us Mom and tell grandma she's still my hero. We'll miss you every day until we meet again.
