Howard Edwin Hill

Howard Edwin Hill, 84, of Polson, MT, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 at home. Howard was born on June 30, 1926 in Princeton, W.Va. and graduated from Bluefield High School in Bluefield, W.Va. He then entered the US Navy in 1944 and served until 1947. On August 22, 1949, he married Joyce A. Armstrong in Bluefield, W.Va. After his service in the Navy, he went to work for Western Electric (AT&T) as a tool and dye maker. He was a part of the Knife Makers Guild for 22 years after taking up knife making in 1952. Howard is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother. Survivors include his wife, Joyce: sons, Richard Hill, Randal Hill, and Ronald Hill: six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, August 6, 2010, 3:00 PM at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson. Military honors will be provided by Polson VFW Post 2986. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Hill's family would appreciate contributions to Partners in Home Care Hospice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
