Glen W Lack, age 80, of Polson, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at home with his family by his side of the effects of Parkinson’s disease. He was born on July 4, 1941, in Sperry, Oklahoma to Theodore and Mildred Lack. Following the divorce of his parents, Glen’s mother met and married Clarence Boullt.
On September 21, 1974, he married Vera Bundy and together they spent the next 47 years side by side. Glen worked many places throughout his life, but his greatest career began in 1988 when he and Vera purchased the Cherry Hill Motel in Polson. Together they would turn this motel into more than just a place to catch some shut eye until their retirement in 2011. This quaint little motel became a destination for many visitors to the Polson area with its immaculate lawn and themed rooms. The motel had many repeat customers who would not only return each year and enjoy the hospitality provided by Glen and Vera, but who also became close friends in later years.
When Glen wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with his family. You could often find him roaming around garage sales and antique shops looking for a new gun or knife. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Later in life, Glen enjoyed collecting knives, guns, and model cars. When he had a little extra wood or a license plate he no longer used, a bird house would appear from his workshop.
Glen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vera; daughters, Deborah K Paulsen, Diana Lack, Lavonne Franjione and Gloria Evjen; 3 sons, David Lack, Dennis Lack and Roy Bundy; two brothers, John Boullt and J.R. Boullt; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and his beloved faithful pup Maddy.
Per Glen’s wishes, no services are planned. Donations may be made to the Mission Valley Animal Shelter or your local animal shelter in Glen’s name.
