Gerald "Jerry" Kenmir
Gerald 'Jerry' Kenmir, 81 of Polson passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 after a two-year battle with cancer at his home with his wife of 51 years, Delma by his bedside. Jerry was born January 11, 1928 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, a son of the late Thomas and Jane Ellen Kenmir. Jerry was a WW II Veteran having proudly served in the Merchant Marines. He worked for American Plywood Association for 31 years and after, many years in Gig Harbor, WA, he and Delma moved back to Polson upon retirement. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman and was well known for his music. Jerry was a member of the BPOE #1695 Elks for 48 years, Eagles Aeire #4397 and the VFW Post 2986. Besides his parents, a sister Florence and a brother, Larry also preceded Jerry in death. He is surivived by his loving wife, Delma: his six children, Tom Kenmir of Tacoma, WA, Roxy (Henry) Martin of Kent, WA, Doug Kenmir of Kent, WA, Jim (Glenda) Kenmir of Fox Island, WA, Verla (Marly) Gardner of Graham, WA, Brad (Pam) Kenmir of Coeur D' Alene, ID, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law and friends. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.groganfuneralhome.com.
