Obituary for
Fredric Harry Chase
Fredric H. Chase, 74 of Polson, MT and formerly of Bakersfield, CA passed away on June 27th 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Fred was born on May 23 1940 in Bakersfield, CA to Herbert Chase and Vee Chase-Lanquist. He graduated from High School in 1958 where he played football and was on the track team. After high school he joined the Marine Corps and was very proud to be a Marine.
On November 9th 1968 he married the love of his life Lorie Candia. They had three children. He worked at Fleet Parts and Instruments Co. Inc. where he was a service manager until he retired. Fred and Lorie moved to Montana in 2010 after falling in love with the beauty of Montana.
Fred enjoyed all sports. He was a fantastic Boy Scout leader for troop 71 and had many great adventures with them. He loved the outdoors and was a great family man. He worked hard his entire life. He was an honorable man who was loved dearly.
He is proceeded in death by his father Herbert Chase, his mother Vee Lanquist, his stepfather John Lanquist, and his sister-in law Millie Chase.
He is survived by his wife, Lorie Chase; children, Fredric H. Chase Jr (Angee Chase), Michelle Chase-Morgan (Chad Morgan), Marty Chase-Vancil (Chris Vancil); 14 grandchildren, Amanda Chase, Dan Koch, Ryan Miller, Greg Chase, Whitlee Miller, Samantha Chase, Jordan Morgan, Haley Morgan, Jaron Morgan, Shelbey Wright, Jarod Chase, Aaron Vancil, Trenton Vancil, and Joshua Blesener; 2 great granddaughters, Alannah Koch and Paisley Williams. Fred is also survived by his 4 brothers, Sonny Chase, Jimmy Chase (Fran Chase), Bob Chase (Freda Chase), Richard Chase (Mickey Chase), and a half-sister Rebecca Chase-Mulvey (John Mulvey), and many other family members. He was very much loved and will be missed by everyone.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday July 7th at 1:00 pm at Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory. A reception will follow at his daughter Michelle's house at 1305 5th St. E. in Polson.
