Florence Ann Johnson, 73, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2019 in Polson, Montana. She was born July 10, 1945 in St. Ignatius to Samuel and Helen Nicholas Hewankorn. She attended school at the Saint Ignatius Ursulines, Flandreau Indian School, and moved to California to complete her certificate in Dental Assisting.
Florence was married to Phillip Johnson, and they had two children, Thomas and Alvina.Throughout her life she worked in the orchards, cutting Christmas trees and enjoy picking berries. Her main job consisted of being a homemaker and caring for her younger sister, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a very artistic crafter in creating beadwork, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also loved to cook and created many unique dishes.
Florence will be remembered by her sense of humor, unmistakable laugh and keeping life interesting.
She is preceded in death by her mother Helen Charlo; Father Samuel; two brothers Eugene & Henry; and her daughter Cissy Johnson.
She is survived by her sisters, Leona Juneau of Worley, ID and Chrissie Ewing of BigArm, MT; son Tuma Johnson of Pablo; granddaughters, Wynonna Gehrke(Chance) of PostFalls, ID and Julia Moore(Casey) of Coeur d* Alene, ID; great granddaughters, Kaeleigh, Kaemani & Olivia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends from Idaho, Montana,Washington and Nebraska.
Services are scheduled for March 13, 2019 with Rosary at 8 PM. Funeral will be March 14th, with Mass at 10 am at the Community Center in Elmo, Montana. Burial will be at the Dayton Cemetery.
