Obituary for Fay Doris Smith

Fay D. Smith was born in Roundup, Montana on September 3, 1932. She was raised on a farm by her parents, Mary Pearl Goodnight, Elmer Herbert “Hub” Watson with her sister Ila.

Fay attended school in Klein, Montana and graduated in 1951. She met her future husband Carl Smith at a community dance, and they married in April, 1954, dancing through their journey until Carl passing away in 1987. Fay raised her daughters Evonne and Linda moving with the construction company to Roy, Montana, then to Ekalaka, Circle, Drummond, Superior, and Stevensville, where she opened a floral shop and pizza parlor with her family. In 1983 she moved with the family to Polson, where they opened Regatta Pizza and Polson Flower Shop. Fay loved the flower shop and enjoyed working there 15 years before her retirement. Fay travelled extensively with her new dancing partner Roy Winslow, especially enjoying big band cruises.

Fay passed away May 31st after a short illness surrounded by her family, Evonne & Matt O’Neill; Linda, Bill, Mara, Ana, Kai, Claire, Joseph & Billy Brownell; Ila, Jim, Jayme, Connie and Gary Reighard, and her four legged companion, Brandi.
Fay was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister and we will think of her always dancing.
