Obituary for Esther F. Sampson

Esther Frances Sampson (nee Watkins) was born on September 5, 1907 in Menoken, N.D. She was the seventh of eight children born to John and Lenora (nee Blue) Watkins. Esther passed away on September 27, 2012 in Polson, MT.
She traveled by covered wagon from North Dakota to Billings, MT as a child with her parents and siblings. As a young teenager she traveled with her parents to Long Beach, CA., where she lived until 1995.
She married the love of her life, Sam A. Sampson on June 4, 1924 in Long Beach. Their first son George was born in January 1927 and their second son Jerry in October 1929.
In 1995, Esther moved to Lake Mary Ronan in northwestern MT to live with her son & daughter-in-law. They moved to Polson in 2003.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Sam in 1988, their son George in 1982, her parents, and her seven siblings, Gladys, Genevieve, Mildred, Ruth, Jack, Don, and Russell.
Esther is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Ruby Sampson; her four grandchildren, Russell (Darleene) Sampson, Michael Sampson, Geri (Charlie) Cribbs, and Roger Sampson; 5 great-grandchildren, Eric & Brian Sampson, Robert (Robin) & Geri Cribbs, and Sam Sampson; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Skyelar, Faith, and Gabriel Cribbs.
She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, CA next to her son and husband. At her request, no services will be held. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
