Esther Dena Hicklin
Esther Dena Hicklin passed away August 9, 2015, with her loving family, son, and daughter by her side. Esther was born April 20, 1920 in Belgrade, Montana. Esther celebrated her 95th birthday on April 20th of this year.
Esther moved with her family to a small farm in Whitefish, MT in 1932. On July 9, 1938, Esther married Edward (Kirby) Hicklin in Kalispell, MT. They celebrated 69 years of a loving relationship. Esther and Kirby moved to Polson, MT from Clancy, MT after Kirby retired. They helped their daughter Jeanie and son-in-law Francis Williams in the Cherry orchard. Esther and Kirby were dedicated members of First Baptist Church in Polson. On October 15, 2007, Esther lost Kirby who was the love of her life.
Esther so loved family, grandkids, friends, her cat, Pritzie, and her church family. Esther lived alone for 9 years in her own home, being very independent, active, and keeping a sharp mind.
Esther is survived by daughter Karen (Jeanie) Williams of Polson; grandson William (Bill) Williams and his wife Melody; great grandsons Daniel and Benjamin Williams of Lavon, TX; granddaughter Kim Stallknecht and her husband Kurt; great granddaughters Ariel and Alanis of Bigfork, MT; son Milton Hicklin of St. Helens, OR; granddaughter Tammy McLean of Seattle, WA; great granddaughter Brooke McLean of Seattle, WA; great grandson Beau McLean of Helena, MT; granddaughter Therese Phillips and husband Greg; grandsons Zayn of Bothell, WA and Allen Shive of Newberg, OR; great-great grandson Brody of Newberg, OR; grandson Troy Hicklin and his wife Julie; great grandson Jace Hicklin of Longview, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Esther was preceded in death by 7 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at The Lake Funeral Home, Polson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Polson with Pastor Scott Craven officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at First Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in memory of Esther (Dena).
