Obituary for
Edward Roland Unger
Edward Roland “Eddy” Unger passed away on Friday March 9, 2018 at age 86. He was born November 19, 1931 in Poplar MT to John and Minnie Unger the 5th of six children.
He moved with his folks to Polson in 1948. He graduated from Polson High School in 1949. He served in the Army Reserves.
He married JoMay Mellinger from Thompson Falls MT on November 13, 1960. They had five children. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He owned and operated a ranch west of Pablo for over 55 years. He also worked at Plum Creek Mill and Jore Corp.
Anyone who knew him knew that he was a man of faith, love, integrity, honesty and hard work. He will be greatly missed but we know he is at peace now and in his heavenly home.
He was preceded in death by his parents John & Minnie Unger, brothers Lawrence Unger, Reynold Unger, sister Martha Kroemer and infant son Leonard Unger.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years JoMay Unger and four children, Kathryn Cutting, Janet (Gary) Reynolds, Vern Unger and David Unger and two sisters Marie Leivestad and Rosalia Skaar, seven grandchildren, Bethany, Kimberly, Christopher, Rachel, Zachary, Hope and Kaleb, five great grandchildren Thomas, Ryland, Kyler, Robert and Kennedy, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday March 15, 2018 at 1:00pm, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kyle Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery Polson MT.
