Edmund (Eddie) John Schumacher 97 passed away October, 6 2013 of natural causes at his home in Polson MT. He was born in Circle Mt on July 10, 1916. His family moved to Polson in the summer of 1925 with his 6 siblings. In his younger years he worked as the boiler fireman on the last Klondike on Flathead Lake. He played guitar for many dances where he meet his wife Grace Hoosier whom he married on April 3, 1936 in Shelby Mt., celebrating 77 years of marriage on April 3, 2013. He was drafted with the first Army draft out of Lake County. Serving in the artillery in the South Pacific Islands until receiving his honorable discharge in 1945.He worked in the lumber industry until his retirement. He loved fishing, hunting and playing music at the family cabin on the little Thompson River.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents John and Maggie Schumacher, 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Richard, Norbert, Tony, Frank, Ella, Irene, Evelyn , Lavina ; two grandchildren Beverly Gregory and Donald White.
Eddie is survived by his wife Grace; daughter' s Denise White(LeRoy) Rathdrum ID; Donna Peterson(Dean) Whitefish, MT ;grandchildren Cecil Fowler (Wendy) , Mike Anderson(Tracy) and Clark Davis(Amber) and Eric White; great grandchildren Zach White, Ryan Gregory, Isabelle and Tyler Anderson, Cody Fowler, Ruby and Eddie Davis, many niece and nephews and his wonderful companion kitty "Poosie"
A special thanks to Lisa's cardiac rehab, the Elks family members, Susan and her wonderful Hospice staff . The family wishes to thank so many dear friends who have helped comfort Mom and Dad throughout Dad's lingering illness. You are all very special friends.
