Dusty Seegers

March 8, 1965 — November 12, 2021

Dusty Seegers went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 12, 2021, after a struggle with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). He became ill with Covid on October 16 and was hospitalized on October 24. He passed away at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Robert Dustin Seegers was born on March 8, 1965, in Seymour, Indiana to Robert and Nancy (Bowman) Seegers.

After the death of his dad the family eventually moved to Moiese, Montana where Dusty and his sister Jamie and brother Eric grew up. Dusty worked for the Lake County Sheriff's Office for 28 years and was very committed to serving his community. In 1990 Dusty and Sophie got married and worked together many years for County government.

Dusty loved the outdoors and became a Montana Master Naturalist in 2021. He was always outside camping, fishing, hunting or "poking" as he called it. He and Sophie were avid birders, and it was one of their favorite mutual hobbies.

As well as loving the outdoors, Dusty was a talented artist and could draw, paint, do leather work, scrimshaw, and a host of other crafts. His art was admired by many people and he was happy to give it away if someone liked it.

Dusty loved his church and church family - First Baptist in Polson. He was learning and growing in the Lord and spent time everyday studying his Bible.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Jamie. He is survived by his wife Sophie, his brother Eric (Tina) Seegers, his nephews Roman (Samijo) Firestone, Chance (Kristin) Firestone, Cory Drowatzky, his niece Annika Hasselblad and his Aunt Edie and many other cousins and relatives in Indiana.
Dusty was a kind, intelligent man who was devoted to Jesus and his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
