Duane Harold Snyder

Duane Snyder, a 25-year veteran of United States Marine Corp and longtime resident of Polson, MT, passed away on November 18, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Duane, as he was known to many in the area, was born June 6, 1952, to Wayne and Melva Snyder and attended Ronan High School before enlisting in the USMC. As a Chief Warrant Officer 4 for the Marines, Duane served in different parts of Asia and the United States. He had many amazing stories of his time serving.

The U.S. Marine Corp recognized Duane for his honorable service with the Navy Achievement Medal and Navy Commendation Medal. Duane was a proud serving Marine Corp Officer. Although he did not speak much about his time serving you could tell by looking at him, he was proud to be a Marine (he wore the memorabilia daily).

Duane is survived by his wife, Guadalupe, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His family has organized a memorial service to honor Duane’s life and military service, which will be held at the Lake Funeral Home in Polson, MT on November 26, 2023, at 11 a.m.
