Obituary for Dorothy June Rose

Dorothy June Rose passed away from natural causes shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born in Grenora, North Dakota on June 7, 1925 joining sister Lenora and parents John B and Rose Anderson. Homer and Howard joined the family in Plentywood, MT.
June attended grade school in Plentywood, Mt. Over the years, Lenora, June, Howard and Homer shared fond memories of their time in Eastern Montana. June married Verner Rose on December 16, 1943. June was content to be at home looking over Valley View while enjoying her morning coffee. She greatly enjoyed the magnificent sun sets from her vantage point as well.
Verner and June Rose loved their six children and 13 grandchildren unconditionally, always ready to share time together. Her face would light up with love whenever someone came to visit. As the heart of the family, Grandma Rose kept in touch by phone and letters with close and extended family and friends. Photos on the refrigerator were her pride and joy. Early in her life, she would get car sick so she preferred staying home. However this didn't stop her as she traveled vicariously through her children and grandchildren's in the huge Road Atlas. She kept the map handy so she could pin point the latest adventure of one of the family. All of June's children, 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren were her reason for living after Verner passed in 1976. In recent years, she was content watching all of Ray and Gayle's various dogs, chickens, ducks, rabbits and horses. June's hearty laughter filled the house as she seldom complained and was thankful for each day.
June was preceded in her death by, husband, Verner Rose and grandsons, Anthony Lulow and KC Hutchin. She is survived by children: Judy (David Wright) Rose - Casper, Wyoming; Irene Lulow – Renton, Washington; Donna Haas – Norwood, Minnesota; Phyllis (Bob) James – Stoutsville, Missouri; Ray (Gayle) Rose – Polson, Montana; Nancy Michaelson – Ronan, Montana. Brothers Homer (Juanita) Anderson – Polson, Montana; Howard Anderson – Polson, Montana; Sister-in-law, Esther Bocksnick – Ronan, Montana. The 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren live as near as Polson, Pablo and Charlo Montana. As far as Alaska; Alberta, Canada; New Mexico; Minnesota; and Washington. Numerous nieces and nephews and their families are spread across the map from coast to coast of the United States. Grandma Rose was a blessing to all who had the opportunity to know her and love her. No one will ever fill the spot in our hearts that her passing leaves.
There will be a memorial service at The Lake Funeral Home on Saturday June 27th at 9:30 a.m.
