Dorothea Smith

Dorothea Smith age 96 of Polson passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at her home. She was born October 12, 1912 at Riebling, Montana, the daughter of August and Martha Fulberg. Dorothea graduated from Augusta High School where she played basketball. She then graduated from Intermountain College in Helena with a BS degree in Education.Dorothea married Elmore Smith and they spent time in Lavina teaching and then moved to Alberton. She was the clerk and recorder at Alberton for many years. After retirement, they moved to Polson for their remaining years. Dorothea was active in Eastern Star and really enjoyed fishing at Lake Mary Ronan.She is surivived by her sister Roma Bacon of Missoula, her daughter and son-in-law Marlene and Bill Howell of Moiese, her son and daughter-in-law Gordy and Bev Smith of Somers, her granddaughters Patti Chevellier and family of Missoula and Lynn Fullerton and family of Moiese and grandson Rick Howell of Superior.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any veteran's organization.Private family burial was held in the Missoula City Cemetery.
