Obituary for
Donald Leo Forney
The most wonderful man went to dance with his sweetheart GG on June 12, 2018. Donald Leo Forney was born on January 25, 1928 in Great Falls, Montana. He was raised on the family farm north of Great Falls and farmed there for many years.
He attended a one room school house (Springdale School) until 1939 when his parents bought a home in Great Falls. He attended Paris Gibson Junior High and in 1946 graduated from Great Falls High. He met the love of his life (GG Hansen) in 1948 with a five cent phone call that he borrowed from his friends and they were married in 1949. The street light where they first kissed is now on his patio at his Finley Point home.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Cascade Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Moto-Sikl Tauf, Elbon Club, Farmers Union and the Great Falls Speedway racing and building stock cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife GG of 65 years, his parents Leo and Ethel Forney and his brothers, Raymond and Harold.
He is survived by his two daughters Linda (Will) Thrasher and Pamella (Dennis) Prinzing; grandchildren, Cindy (Ryon) Noland, Candi (Jay) Shalz, Brandon (Jennifer), Dustin, Cameron and Katelyn Prinzing; great-grandchildren, Jack Noland, Rylee and Kodee Shalz, Miko and Mia Prinzing and Madelynn Prinzing. He had five loves in his life, his wife GG, his children and great-grandchildren and maybe Gin. Let’s drink a toast to Don and waltz on with GG.
