Dolores M. Hunsucker

Dolores M. Hunsucker, 84, a Polson area resident for the past thirty-nine years, died December 3 at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. She was born at Laurel, Nebraska March 6, 1924 to Leopold A. Schmakiet and Wilhemina 'Minnie' (Ever) Schmakiet. She graduated from high school at Chadron, Nebraska in 1943 and later served with the United States Coast Guard during World War II, serving at Palm Beach, Florida, Manhatton Beach, Trasta, N.Y., Washington, D.C. and Seattle, WA.: she was honorably discharged in May of 1946. She married John Hunsucker in 1947 at Eugene, Oregon. She was employed by Rubenstein's Furniture in Eugene, Oregon: they later had resided at Bend and Union, Oregon until coming to Montana where they operated the KM Ranch at Whitefish. They came to the Polson area in October of 1969 where they farmed and had since resided. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a daughter and great granddaughter. Survivors include her husband John: daughters Patricia Ann Yantis and Janet Hunsucker: sons John Hunsucker and Paul Hunsucker as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, December 20th at 11:00 a,m. at the Pablo Nazarene Church with Rev. Jim Perry officiating. Arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home.
