DeWayne L. Kemp passed away on May 3, 2023, although in a tragic motorcycle accident he was doing what he loved. He was born in San Jose, California on January 10, 1964, to Harry Wayne and Jeannie Eileen (Argetsinger) Kemp and resided there for several years before he ended up in Montana. He often shared with family and friends that Montana is a beautiful place and that he loved it there.

DeWayne started out as a mechanic and tow truck driver for their family business, before he found himself in Montana training dogs and then on to ranch work. He loved the outdoors and all that Montana had to offer. DeWayne was a great dad, brother, son, and friend; he maintained so many friendships, many stemming back to his childhood. He was such a likeable guy and could make friends anywhere.

Dewayne was preceded into death by his father Wayne Kemp, grandparents, Kemp, Hux and Argetsinger.

DeWayne is survived by his children, his most valuable possessions on earth, his daughter Cambria, his son Cody (Natalie), and his grandchildren Hailey, Brooke and Brawlee.  Dewayne’s parents Mel and Jeannie Mentzer, sister Janene Davidson, and brother-in-law Brad Davidson, brother Tony Mentzer and wife Kim, Tonda Westfall and husband John, sister Yolanda Lovett and husband Kenny and sister Dottie husband Phil.  DeWayne is also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.
