Dennis (Denny) Owens, 88, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2020. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with a twinkle in his eye.
Denny was born in Libby, Montana, August 7, 1932, to James and Rachel Owens. His father passed away at a very young age and Rachel moved the family to Kalispell, MT. Denny joined the US Air Force in 1950. While stationed in Texas he met the love of his life, Arline. They married in New Braunfels, Texas, March 6, 1954. He rose to the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E9) and retired from the Air Force in 1972, after 22 years of honorable service. After retiring from the military, he and Arline moved their family to Kalispell. Denny owned and operated Glacier Hearing Aid from 1975-1985. He enjoyed his retirement with Arline, spending time between their homes on McGregor Lake and winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Denny was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors, tinkering in his shop, playing cards, shooting pool, and helping his family and neighbors. He was known for always having just the right tool in his shop to help anyone in need.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel, brothers Patrick and Gaylon “Lum,” sisters Lynda and Dorothy, and son Brandan in 2007.
Denny is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Arline, and his children Scott Owens (Donna), Randal Owens (Peggy), and Kelly (Tony) Hines. Dennis is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, his sister Shirley Druesdow, and his brother Michael Hoover (Cindy), as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
