Obituary for Delton Edwin Mindt

Delton Edwin (Del) Mindt, age 79, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Del was born April 22, 1937 in Sidney, MT to Edwin and Ella Mindt. He grew up on a small farm in Sidney until entering the Army in 1956.

Del married Anna Smelser on Dec. 29, 1957 and would have enjoyed 59 years together this December. Del and Anna had four children and moved around Montana for many years as Del worked for the Montana Power Company. He was appointed the town manager for that company. In 1974 Del and family moved to Polson, MT where he started his own electrical business, Mindt Electric. He continued to run the company until he retired around 2002.

Del very much enjoyed "EVERY" weekend camping trip with the family in the summers and hunting in the fall. After retiring he finally could enjoy many days out on the lake fishing. He very much enjoyed hunting with his son, Monte, until just a few years ago, when he could no longer bark orders from the cab of his truck(only those who KNOW Del will laugh)!

Another passion for Del was his inventions, in which he holds a few patents for...he was quite a brilliant man!

Del is preceded in death by his daughter, (Patti), son (Monte), granddaughter (Brooke), parents (Ed & Ella), sister (Joanne).

Del is survived by his one love, wife (Anna), his daughters (Nora & Tana) and their families, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, and brothers (Larry & Terry).

A memorial service is planned for Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:00 am at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson, Mt.
