Obituary for Dean Arnold Swenson

Dean Arnold Swenson passed away on March 24, 2014. Dean was born in Coteau, North Dakota on March 30, 1932 to Sigurd and Sophie Swenson. Dean graduated in 1952 from Polson High School. He received his Associates Degree from Northern Montana College, joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. Dean had a successful career as a traveling car parts salesman for Valley Motors, Hastings, and AP Mufflers. Dean was friendly and fun-loving. He made good friends wherever he went. Dean was adored by his nieces and nephews – teaching them to swim, fish, and water ski on Flathead Lake. Dean was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. In 1992, Dean returned to Polson to care for his mother full time.

Dean is survived by his brothers, Ernest Swenson of Hayward CA, and Lyle Swenson of Terry MT, six nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Dean's funeral will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Dean's name to your favorite charity.
