Devoted and Loving Husband and Father
David John DuBois, 63 went home to be with his Lord Thursday, June 29, 2023, while at his cabin in Montana. Living his dream life on Flat Head Lake.
Dave was born September 26, 1959, in Oak Park, IL to Jean and Patricia DuBois. Dave loved the winters in Chicago and was therefore looking forward to retirement life in Montana.
In 1981, Dave graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. While attending college, he continued to pursue his love of flying and becoming an instructor. Dave started flying at the young age of 16. He received many awards including Top Male Pilot and Third in the Nation. Dave was an airplane mechanic while in flight school. His love of aviation started as a child with great memories of going with his dad to the airport to watch planes on Sunday’s. Dave was a proud Captain and Check Airman for 37 years with USAir/American Airlines.
Dave loved traveling in his motorcoach across the country with his wife, 2 sons, 2 dogs and family. He loved his country and to be known as a patriot. His hobbies were fishing, trains, planes, shooting, watching wildlife and cooking. He loved being with family and friends and cooking wonderful gourmet meals.
Dave is survived by his wife, April Vance DuBois: sons, Nathan DuBois, Keaton DuBois: sisters, Nicole (Tom) Edwards, Suzette Tefteller: Nephew, Brian Smith (Ashley): Nieces, Kelly (David) Van Vleet,
Katelyn (Michael) Troxel: many great nieces and nephews: Father-In-Law, Zeb (Natalie) Vance: Mother-In-Law, Dodie (Jack) Barton: Brother-In-Law, Nick (Andrea) Vance: many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Jean Guy DuBois and his mother Patricia Rayney Mose.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 2727 Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, Charlotte, NC.
