Darlene Marquart
MISSOULA — Darlene Rose Marquart, 83, of St. Ignatius, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Community Medical Center, of natural causes.
She was born in a railcar on Oct. 23, 1930, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where her father Dewey Osgood was a railroad conductor and her mother Flossie Osgood accompanied him.
In her earlier years, she was the cook and cashier for both John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and Rath Packing Co. She was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Darlene had many interest and hobbies in her life. She has spent many years fishing the riverbanks of Iowa with her mother, researching her genealogy, crocheting blankets and attending the Senior Center for lunches and bingo. One of her greatest joys was giving treats to the neighbors' cats, Moe, Littlest, and Clarence.
Two sons, Keith (Pamela) Marquart of Tulsa, Okla. and Rick (Paulette) Marquart of St. Ignatius; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister Ardith Rockwood of Waterloo, Iowa; survive her.
Memorial services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at a later date.
