Daniel Lee Mix

"Oh Danny!" You went to be with the Lord to soon! Daniel Lee Mix passed away November 16, 2021, in Missoula, Montana.

Danny was born on October 14, 1961, in Polson Montana to George and Bernice Mix. He was the youngest of his 6 siblings. He graduated from Polson High School in 1979. After high school he met and fell in love with Diana and her daughter Lacey. After taking on the roll as a loving father to Lacey, he and Diana had 2 more children Lauren and Lance. Throughout his life he worked as a janitor, moving and assembling furniture, and a line worker at Jore. That is where he met Sylvia and they spent the next 15 years of their lives together. During that time, he grew close with Sylvia's two children Matt and Amanda.

Danny's greatest passions in life were his 3 children and numerous granddaughters, and he finally got his 1st grandson a year ago! He also was a proud member of the Sober Indian Riders motorcycle club. He loved riding his motorcycle but was extremely tickled when he got to attend Sturgis four years in a row! When he wasn’t busy, he was at home rooting for the Griz or Seahawks! When football was over, he always had classic rock playing in the background while he was whoopin butt and taking names playing cribbage or dice!

Danny's heart was filled with so much love for others. It didn’t matter how long he had known someone they always felt his loving and giving heart. No matter where he was at in his life, as long as the people around him were smiling, he was happy!

Danny is survived by his girlfriend Sandy Cowling. His children Lacey (Josiah), Lauren, and Lance. His companion for life Little Griz. His grandkids Sharyn (Conner), Charmyn, Viviayn, Allysn, Dillyn, and Elizabeth. His siblings Norman (Lois) Mix, Ada Cleever, Roy (Bev) Mix, Patsy (Jerry) Fisher, and Nancy (Clark) Fiorentino. A very close nephew Shawn (Michelle) Fiorentino and niece Kimberly (Michael) Sheumaker.

Preceding him in death was his dad George and mom Bernice Mix, and brother David Kemp

Danny will be missed by so many but never forgotten!

A Celebration of Life for Dan will be held June 11, 2022, at Boettcher Park, shelter #1. The family will be doing a poker run/memorial drive around the lake with registration for that beginning at 9:30 AM and we will leave the park at 10:30 AM. The memorial services will begin at 1:00 PM and we will have a potluck at 1:30. Please bring your own chairs and something for the potluck if you can.
