Clinton Jay Folden

December 14, 1956 — February 24, 2025

Arlee

With heavy hearts, we must say goodbye to Clinton Jay Folden, 69 years old, of Arlee, Montana. Clint passed away on February 24, 2025, from heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Clint was born and raised in Polson, Montana on December 14, 1956. His parents, Jeanette and Norris Folden, along with his brother, Kurt, welcomed his arrival. Clint had numerous stepbrothers and sisters; Steve, Lee, Tony, Delores, and Pam. Clint graduated from Polson High School in 1975.

Clint married his wife of almost 50 years, Kim Whittig Folden, in 1976. High school sweethearts then and sweethearts to this very day. Clint lived a busy and productive life. He worked several jobs including laying concrete, as a millworker, auto shop mechanic, tire and custom muffler service and several more. After working various jobs, Clint earned an associate’s degree in Natural Resources at Salish Kootenai College and then a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries at the University of Montana. Clint was proud to be the first Tribal member to become a Fisheries Biologist working for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes on the Flathead Reservation. Clint loved his career, unfortunately, he had to retire early due to his declining health.

Clint fought hard to beat his chronic diabetes and kidney failure. He had to give up many things he loved; his job, his buddies Dane Morigeau and Francis Durgeloh, hunting moose, elk, and deer with his son Tyrel, and camping at the Folden Family camp of five generations. However, Clint lived every day to the fullest. He is greatly missed and forever loved.

Clint is survived by his wife, Kim Folden, his sons, Dustin and Tyrel, Tyrel’s wife, Shawna, and his grandson, Skylor. As per his wishes, Clint will be cremated.
