Betty Jean Hickenbottom

Betty Jean Hickenbottom, mother to Lova June Jacobs and Jennifer Gayle Hickenbottom (deceased), passed away on December 25, 2023, peacefully in her sleep. Betty was born June 10, 1934, in Estacada, Oregon to August Schnelle and Hazel Patterson.

Known for her love of her family, home, and animals, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Betty’s family would like her to be remembered for the joy she brought to others during her life, rather than the sadness of her passing.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband, William Hickenbottom, daughter, Jennifer Hickenbottom, great-granddaughter, Natashai Jacobs, and great-grandson, Milo Jacobs.

She is survived by her daughter, Lova Jacobs and son-in-law William Jacobs; grandchildren, Tabitha Normandeau, Jesse Jacobs, Moriah Lundeen, Angel Jacobs, Luke Jacobs, Joseph Goetsch, Jordan Reese, Jericho Billmayer, and Jayden Mullaney; and her 12 great-grandchildren. 

A private graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson. In lieu of flowers and gifts, Betty would have preferred a donation to the local humane society in support of her love of animals.
